How many times have you decided to improve your health? You started eating better, buying healthier foods, exercising more, and even stressing less. You were unable to maintain that path very long. You made an unintended U-Turn on your health journey.
We see this most often with diets and exercises. Our basic lifestyle is programmed into our subconscious mind. We are controlled every second of every day by our subconscious mind. It is easy to understand why we fail and return to the status quo.
The prime directive of our subconscious mind is to prevent failure and embarrassment. We establish failure profiles with every action we take. If we dieted and were successful, then that action is filed away as a success.
If we have more successes than failures, then whenever we wanted to diet our subconscious mind would help us stick to that diet until we reached our goal weight. If we failed more than succeeded with dieting, then our subconscious mind will do everything it can to prevent you from achieving success with dieting. You have failed before, and it doesn’t want you to fail again.
The same scenario applies to exercise and every other aspect of our lives. We live in the spotlight of our subconscious mind. If you don’t know how to talk to it correctly, you will be destined to repeat all the mistakes and failures you want to avoid. Almost like an individual Ground Hog’s Day playing in your life.
If we decide to diet to lose weight, then we have a predetermined output from our habits. Change your thought process and tell yourself to embark on a new program that will result in a healthier you, rather than you with less weight. You have no history of this thought process. Your subconscious mind cannot help nor hurt you in attaining this goal.
Many things can be done to solidify the new program in your subconscious mind. There is not enough time and space to cover those details here. Google “How to control your subconscious mind.” There are many articles and videos available.
If you want to master something, you need action and repetition. You cannot learn to write calligraphy by viewing one video and reading a couple of articles. You need practice.
We talk to our conscious mind. We need this. We want that. Wants and needs don’t translate to the subconscious part of our brain. Those are ‘conscious’ verbs. They mean nothing to the subconscious world. You expect and intend things in the subconscious realm.
The subconscious mind works only in the present tense. It researched the past archives of your life to help it make decisions. Don’t tell yourself that you will do this or that. You are not connecting your subconscious master to the future. It must be done in the present.
Your subconscious mind doesn’t understand negatives. When you tell yourself that you will not eat another cookie, you are imposing a double whammy on your subconscious controller. It does not compute in the sense of what you want.
One loophole that you can take advantage of is that your subconscious mind cannot tell the difference between real or imagined. That is where real progress can be made to stop making U-Turns in your life. Implant many envisioned successes to counter the history of failure.
You have control, but you must know how to operate the software that is controlling your life.
