Alzheimer’s disease (AD) is a burden to the person, their family, and friends. Our family has seen instances with AD that nearly bring you to tears some days.
Experiments done on laboratory animals prove that symptoms associated with AD can be reversed.

Is there a way to stop the CMA process as we age? That question prompted scientists to focus on the neurons in jeopardy with AD and the process by which CMA rids the cells of garbage that can cause the dysfunction of neural function.

Levels of CMA activity varied directly with AD progression.
Caution was given that experiments in laboratory animals do not always translate exactly when later performed on humans. The drug revitalized the CMA efficiency. (https://www.nature.com/articles/s41467-021-22501-9) The drug, CA, induced cellular trash cleaning activities to remove defective tau and other proteins.
The study lasted six months with fantastic results. Tau protein levels were reduced in animals treated with CA compared to the untreated animals. Memory and associated symptoms disappeared in the treated animals.
When processes stop working, because of age or other factors, returning a system to normal operating parameters reverses symptoms associated with a nutrient deficiency or aging. A good by-product of the drug was that no damage was noted anywhere else in the test subjects.
The results of these CMA-AD experiments are leading to the development of CA and CA-related drugs for humans.
