Health happens to us. It seems that few of us plan our lives to be healthy. We eat what we want and exercise when it happens. It is not a planned cohesive event horizon for many of us.
Why, someone may ask? I think a lot of it is unawareness. There are too many conflicting opinions as to what one should do. For the healthy person (not suffering or on several prescription medicines), there are many options. For those relying on the pharmaceutical companies to keep them healthy (alive), the options may not be as great.
I was asked yesterday, what is the easiest thing I can do this year to get healthy and stay that way? I thought about many things, but I kept assessing each one in my mind as to which was the easiest. Easy for one is not easy to another.
What do I consider to be the easiest? Let me cover what should be done and then I’ll tell you what the easiest is in my opinion. I think to achieve and maintain a health body you need a total lifestyle supporting your goal. You need to eat healthy foods nutritionally balanced. You need to eat in such a way to maintain an alkaline pH in your body.
You should exercise often enough (many times/week) focusing on strength, flexibility, balance, endurance, cardio, etc. You should restrict the total number of calories. You should fast nearly every day. You should have many hours of quality sleep each night. You should absolutely limit the toxins in your foods and personal care products. You must adhere to a stress reduction regimen several times a day.
What was the question? Yes, what is the easiest? I believe the easiest is to fast intermittently – at least twelve hours daily. I fast typically eighteen hours each day and periodically go forty or more hours on a water-only fast.
